#1 Proverbs 16:9

In my heart I plan my course, but the Lord determines my steps.

 This is one of my favorite Bible verses, as I'm growing up and am graduating highschool this year I'm reminded that God is always with me through it all, and He already has my life planned out, it is in His hands. We talked about this a little in class on Wednesday so I thought of this verse. =]

Even though this blog is short is is one I can reflect on no matter what. That is why I chose it. This verse is one of my favorite verses. Tomorrow is my LAST day of highschool. The feeling I have right now is so amazing. I am sad to leave because there are so many people I will miss..I mean I love all of you. Though this verse reminds me that now it is my time to move on, to go and accomplish many things, and to let God take me and lead me to what He would have me do for Him.

Yesterday I went with Tom and helped serve dinner to some people. At first I was stressed out because I had alot of things to get done that day and tons of homework. It's not that I didn't want to go it's just I kept thinking of the millions of things I had to do after. Once I got there though it was alot of fun, and Tom always makes me feel better. The people there really apperciated us making dinner for them.  I was so glad I did it because they were worth my time, I realized I was becoming selfish and I think God used this for me to see things in a different perspective.

I chose this blog because I have learned to always remember to take time out of my busy schedule and help those who need it. My life will be changing dramatically in the next year and I always want to help those around me, and to put others before myself. Even if life seems to be stressful and crazy.

Wesley # 2

2. Is it sufficient, according to Wesley, to give generously to good causes? Must we actually go to the prisons? To the poor?

I believe it is sufficient when we give to good causes, but it is more sufficent when we go and support these causes. To go and spend our time with those who need someone's help just as Jesus did. For God did not send people to do the work for Him, He genorously gave His Son. Whom sat with the beggars, whores, the sick..etc.. I think Wesely would agree. There's a verse of a song by Bethany Dillon that reminds me of this:

"You sit at the table with the wounded and the poor
You laugh and share stories with the thief and the whore
When You could just be silent and leave us here to die
Still, You sent Your Son for us
You are on our side"

Francis of Assisi

Question # 1-What is the importrance of "penance" in Assisi's prayers and admonitions?

I think the importance is him feeling guilty for his past sins and also him showing his repentance towards those sins. He does this by showing his admoration to God the father. As you see he calls God by mnay names: Almighty, Holy, and Supreme...etc. As all christians should. As we see he shows penance by praising him and offering him thanksgiving.

Ephesians 3:20-21.

Ephesians 3:20-21:

    20Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, 21to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.

When I read this verse it reminded me of how it can relate to us when we do our community service. When we do an act of service that may be something simple God can take it and make it so much more effective and powerful. If we allow Him to work within us. Which I think is a big part in serving others.

1. In Augustine's theology, how does sin relate to Adam?

Sin relates to Adam because sin is in all mankind. Adam was created with a choice just like all humans were: the choice to sin or not to sin. Because of Adam and Eve's choice to give into sin, sin is now in the world forever as we all know. So I guess it relates because it all started with Adam. He did not have to listen to Eve but he did..wow peer pressure started early eh? lol.
